The short version
- InnerBible has no account, no tracking, no ads and no analytics.
- What you read, hear, highlight and write stays on your iPhone. We never see it.
- Apple handles purchases. We never see your payment details.
What stays on your iPhone
The app keeps these only on your device:
- your reading and listening progress: which passages and Journey days you've finished, and where you stopped;
- your settings, such as text size, reminder times and listening choices;
- your Journal: your reflections, highlights and saved passages.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Because what you read in a Bible app could reveal your beliefs, the app is designed so this information never leaves your iPhone.
Deleting the app deletes this information from your iPhone.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders, your iPhone schedules them itself. Nothing is sent to a server.
Face ID
If you lock your Journal with Face ID, your iPhone does the check. The app learns only whether it succeeded. It never receives your face data.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the free week are handled by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple gives us only sales reports that don't identify you.
Crash reports and statistics
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share crash reports and app statistics with us. They don't identify you. You can change this anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Sharing from the app
If you share a quote card or a passage, it goes only where you send it, through your iPhone's share sheet.
Narration downloads
The welcome, the first passages and the first Reading Journey come inside the app. The narration of each book downloads only when you choose, from Apple's servers, the same way app updates do. We don't receive information that identifies you from it. You can remove a download anytime in Settings › Listening › Downloads.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to answer you, and we delete them when they're no longer needed, and at the latest after two years.
Our website
innerbible.com is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure. The website uses no tracking cookies and no analytics.
Children
The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you have rights over personal information about you:
- to know what we hold and to get a copy;
- to correct it;
- to have it deleted.
The only personal information we might hold is an email you sent us. Ask us at support@innerbible.com and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data-protection authority; in Canada, that's the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Who is responsible for privacy
Patrique Portelance, support@innerbible.com. Patrique Portelance is also the person in charge of the protection of personal information under Quebec's Law 25.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, the app will tell you.
